She already has the photos. Give her somewhere to see them.
Ask most mothers what they want and the honest answer is a photo of her kids that is not trapped on a phone. She has thousands of them. She has seen almost none of them since the week they were taken. A photo magnet takes the one she loves and puts it on the fridge, which is the surface she passes more often than any other in the house.

We press every magnet to order in the USA. Full color print, sealed under a smooth protective finish, on a magnetic back strong enough to survive a kitchen door being opened a hundred times a day. It costs less than flowers, and it is still there next Mother's Day.
Ideas that get a real reaction
- One magnet per child. Each kid picks their own photo, so she gets a small gallery instead of one picture, and nobody has to agree on anything.
- The photo she is actually in. Mothers are usually the ones holding the camera, so photos of her with the kids are rare. Find one. It will mean more than another photo of the children alone.
- A year in six frames. Six moments from the past twelve months, which is roughly six more than she has printed.
- For a new mum. A first hospital photo or those impossibly small hands, pressed while they are still that small.
- For grandmothers. A fresh set of the grandkids each year turns into a tradition, and grandparents keep every single one.
When she says she does not want anything
This is the standard answer and it is usually sincere. What she means is that she does not want more objects to dust, store, or feel guilty about. A magnet sidesteps all of that. It needs no shelf, no frame, no nail, and no maintenance. It is small enough to never feel like clutter and personal enough that throwing it away would be unthinkable.
It also works well as the gift that comes from the kids rather than from a partner. Letting a child choose the photo makes them part of it, and that part tends to matter to her more than the object does.
Choosing a size
The 2.5 inch square is the safe, popular choice and handles group photos well. The 2 by 3 inch rectangle suits an upright portrait of her with the children. A 2.25 inch round frames a single face softly, and the 3 inch round is the one to pick if a single photo should be the centrepiece. Our size guide compares all five.
If several siblings are contributing, a larger pack works out cheaper per magnet and every magnet can be a different photo at no extra cost. See our pricing guide for the per magnet maths.
Order early in May. We press to order and usually ship within one to two business days, plus a few days for delivery. Mother's Day is a busy week, so the first week of May keeps things comfortable.
Picking the right photo
Bright, well lit photos where faces fill a good part of the frame press best. Natural light beats flash. Send the original file rather than a screenshot or a copy from a chat app, since those lose detail. And if the only good photo of her with the kids is ten years old and slightly blurry, use it anyway. She will not be grading the sharpness. Our photo guide covers the rest.
Common questions
What is a good Mother's Day gift for a mum who says she wants nothing?
Something personal that takes up no space and needs no upkeep. A photo magnet of her children costs little, goes up in two seconds, and lands somewhere she looks every day.
Can each child pick their own photo?
Yes. Every magnet in a set can be a different picture at no extra cost, so each child chooses their own and she receives the whole set together.
Is this a good gift for a grandmother?
One of the best. Grandparents rarely have current photos of the grandchildren on display, and a refreshed set each year becomes something they look forward to.
Can I use an older or slightly imperfect photo?
Absolutely. Meaning beats technical quality here. As long as it is reasonably bright and in focus, an older photo often makes the better gift.
When should I order for Mother's Day?
The first week of May is comfortable. We press to order, usually shipping within one to two business days, with delivery a few days after that.
Which size for this occasion?
All five sizes work. One of them is usually the best fit, so we mark it.
